The Internet is redefining how pathology is expressed. For example, the Internet provides
a new channel for those with sexual paraphilias or compulsivity to act out their pathologies.
The relative ease of online access to sexually explicit material, the anonymity, the 24-hour
availability, the online disinhibition, the wide choice of sexual partners, and the new ways of
interacting sexually all open new avenues for sexual expression.
